Danny Arcane Asks Tough Questions About Love On “Do U Wanna”

Danny Arcane is kicking off his 2023 releases with yet another incredible slow jam titled “Do U Wanna”. Right in time for Valentine’s Day, Danny says if you play this song for your lover “they’ll either love ya, or leave ya”.
“She Said” was a VIBING ON VINYL fall favorite, and “Do U Wanna” will definitely become a new ear worm for readers. Instrumentally emulating the likes of Mac DeMarco, we see a different take on the love theme that flows through Danny’s work. While “She Said” talks about falling in love at first sight, “Do U Wanna” shows the feelings of questioning whether someone loves you and the doubt and insecurities you feel internally about receiving love.
Confusion and doubt surrounding your feelings about someone you deeply adore and wondering whether they feel the same about you is something anyone can relate to. The song was written by Danny when he was inspired by a past memory of getting lost in his own thoughts while in a relationship, “I was having issues with my self worth, thoughts on if I was worthy of another person’s love, and an irrational fear of losing that person”. Overcoming fear and asking the hard questions in a relationship (“Do you wanna/ Love me forever/ Do you wanna/ Risk it all on me”) may warrant answers you’d never expect (hence Danny’s statement about your person loving you or leaving you!), which is showcased perfectly by the melancholy instruments and rasp in Danny’s voice. It’s a very smooth, chilled out listen that’s perfect for any playlist.
