“It’s The Sweetest Thing I’ve Made So Far”: Luke Mock Celebrates Love On Newest Release

Following the release of the “Universe” remix featuring friend and collaborator Xavier Sharp, indie-pop singer-songwriter Luke Mock is back with another release. Building on his identity as an artist dedicated to crafting songs that are both personal and authentic, Luke’s newest single titled “Love of My Life” is an acoustic ballad with heartfelt lyrics that will make you swoon.
Originally penned in 2017 ,”Love of My Life” has taken on a different meaning for the singer songwriter. When it was first written, the song was meant to be a duet and was inspired by Luke’s girlfriend at the time. During the 2020 pandemic, the pair split which left Luke to grapple with the end of a relationship that meant so much to him. Using the lockdown time to process his feelings, Luke returned to the song and decided to turn his sadness into something more positive.
Turning heartbreak into a celebration of love was Luke’s goal. When asked what he hopes listeners take away from the song, he shared that he hopes they can use the song as a beacon of love and happiness, or as a reminder that there is love and happiness around them. “I hope listeners fall in love with this song playing at 2 A.M. while they’re dancing in the kitchen,” Luke said. After listening to the song (on repeat, it’s too good!), it’s safe to say listeners won’t have a hard time falling in love with and to this track.
Speaking about the rewrite, Luke isn’t afraid to admit that “Love of My Life” is one of his favorite songs he’s ever written. He’s spent the past two years perfecting the production on top of reworking the lyrics, so it’s not hard to believe Luke is both proud of the song and excited for fans to hear it for the first time. It’s a much more delicate track compared to previous releases, so fans should be excited to hear a sweeter side of Luke’s music.
