Linn Holmes is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter. Originally from Sweden, Linn has been singing before she could walk. She spent her younger years accompanying her mother in gospel choir and eventually moving onto performing in choirs herself, Linn has always felt at home singing in harmony with others. She spent some time performing in bands around Stockholm before making the move to Los Angeles in 2018 to pursue a degree in vocals.

Linn has performed with many of the greats at the Whisky A Go Go including Phil X (formerly in Bon Jovi), Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Cherrie Curie (The Runaways), Jude Gold (Jefferson Starship), Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot), just to name a few. She’s also performed with Harry Katz and the Pistachios and is part of the blues rock duo Swedish Highcoast Ensemble alongside Marcus Lundqvist, where she is the lead singer and co-writer for all their music. Apart from her love of gospel, Linn has a deep love for rock music; Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac, and the Allman Brothers are just some of the acts who have provided her inspiration as she’s come into her artistry.

Linn Holmes for “Baby Blue” promotion

Linn is currently embarking on a solo journey, and the release of “Baby Blue” marks her second single release as a solo artist. The song is a lighthearted number about love in a vintage daydream with a 70s feel. Produced by Tom Chandler, the track features Adam Peri (piano), Daniel Jakubovic (drums, guitar, bass), with soundscaping by Jenny Dang (Argylle). Linn’s vocal delivery feels reminiscent of vocalists such as Fiona Apple and Alanis Morissette, it’s soft where it needs to be but powerful in other parts. You’ll find it hard not to sing along to the upbeat chorus as it rings through your ears, “Cause you picked me up in your Baby blue / Cadillac, that’s when I met you / And you said to me, can you make her spin? / Oh, trust me honey, I can make her sing for you”.

For the rest of the year, fans of Linn can expect to see her at some Harry Katz and the Pistachios shows as well as continuing to do shows alongside the All-Star line up at the Ultimate Jam Night at Whisky A Go Go. You can stream “Baby Blue” on Spotify or Apple Music today, and be sure to follow Linn on Instagram and TikTok to stay up to date on her future projects!
