Pop sensation LO LA is back with a single perfectly titled “Thunderstorm” to wash away the April showers and welcome the warm weather of May. A fast paced track clocking in a little under two minutes, LO LA uses a thunderstorm metaphor to describe the feelings of a person you like completely taking over thoughts and ‘clouding’ your judgment. Taking the metaphor one step further, LO LA brings you deeper into her world with thunderstorm themed lyrics and sounds layered with an incredibly catchy drum loop and dreamy synths.

Although short, “Thunderstorm” packs a powerful punch. You’ll find yourself quickly learning the lyrics of the chorus and singing along by the second or third time they roll around, “My mind can’t stop wandering/ Cuz chaos is the norm now/ Seein’ you each time you leave/ My head is in a thunderstorm”. LO LA’s head is in the clouds as she thinks of this person of interest, she’s stuck in a trance and unable to escape the image of them, the thundering thoughts becomes her “paradise” as she falls deeper for this person. It’s such a simple analogy constructed so beautifully, and LO LA’s stellar vocals bring the song to life in an effortless way.
