Scorpio Szn Is Back With A New Sweet Single Titled “Sugar Sugar”

Back in December I wrote about New Mexico based duo Scorpio Szn, now Armando and Zandi are back with their first release of the new year titled “Sugar Sugar”! The Scorpio Szn duo are no strangers to the topic of love, and this song solidifies that fact. However, it is a new musical sounding direction for Zandi and Armando, and it’s certainly a sweet twist that was not expected but is certainly appreciated!
Speaking about the new track, the duo said that it’s directly inspired by Japanese City Pop and is a lighthearted, straightforward song about “wanting a little more sugar from someone special because they make life a tad bit sweeter”. The song is a total vibe; the instrumentals are super chill and there’s an unexpected saxophone that comes in a minute or so into the song that brings a unique and vibrant twist to the track. Zandi’s smooth vocals are accompanied by a chorus of voices as she sings “Gotta gotta get my (gotta gotta, gotta gotta)/ Give me just a little more (give me just a little more)/ Sugar sugar right before you leave out the front door”.
Overall, the track is the perfect one to ring in the start of the spring season! It’s sweet sounding and it’s a feel good love song that you’ll want to have on loop for hours on end. Personally speaking, I couldn’t stop listening to this song while writing up this review, and was unable to get it out of my head even when I wasn’t writing about it!
