Sebas De Varona Takes Listeners On A Psychedelic Journey On ‘Dynamics in the 4th Dimension’ EP

Sebas De Varona is a Miami based singer, songwriter, and producer with a classic psychedelic style. His debut EP Dynamics in the 4th Dimension is a must listen, the four tracks will transport listeners on a psychedelic to the late 60s/early 70s. The tracks flow from one to the next continuously and incorporate a few different genres of the time, making it an interesting listening experience. Through socially aware and progressive songwriting, Sebas hopes that listeners can get a better understanding of who he is as an artist.
Sebas was heavily inspired by the counterculture movement of the 60s. Artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Janis Joplin are just a few of his biggest inspirations. His deep love for bluegrass, folk, and improvisational music have shaped the way he writes lyrics and melodies. Although he’s an advanced guitarist, songwriter, and producer, he takes the most pride in being able to perform and improvise on stage in front of a live audience.
Collaborating with people who are close to him, the EP was brought to life on a work trip in Central Florida, and ultimately finished at Sunset Studios in South Miami. The process was exciting and fun, and working with people who understand him made the process a lot easier. Releasing his first EP is a massive step in his career, but the thing that makes Sebas most excited for the release is that he is sharing music he’s made and truly loves. He went into this creating music only for himself, which allowed him to be more genuine in his approach to working on these four tracks.
Dynamics in the 4th Dimension is lyrically based on Sebas’ experience as an artist as he figures out what he wants his message as an artist to be. This struggle is told over the course of four songs that represent a journey in his mind, the sonic development of the instruments further driving home this idea. Sebas creates his unique sound blending acid rock, funk, psychedelic, and soul into one project. His voice packs a powerful punch, it’s striking and bold over the course of the 18 minutes, the instrumentals blend together effortlessly making it a seamless listen. Although listening all the way through provides the best experience, Sebas’ personal favorite track and one he’d direct listeners to is “Wake Up”.
