We’re kicking off the Sunday Sounds of February with an artist named Soleil! Soleil was born in New York but currently resides in Miami. Soleil has gained recognition from numerous radio stations and media outlets, and has been recognized by Sony, SoundCloud, and ReverbNation. Combining elements of blues, hip-hop, jazz, pop, R&B, and soul, Soleil captures the attention of all kinds of music lovers.

Her recently released track titled “Whose Side?”, co produced by Aston Marton, is one of Soleil’s many songs about love. Inspired by the UK dance scene, the tempo changes often during the song to represent the different emotions one can feel in a relationship. Speaking about “Whose Side?”, Soleil said the track “can be understood in many ways – choosing whether to move forward in a relationship to make it work, choosing to embrace all layers and versions of a person, and/or the common self vs. self battle, as we are the only ones who can hold ourselves back”.

Soleil’s voice is effortless and smooth as she asks throughout the song “Whose side you on?” over the incredibly catchy beat. This is definitely a track you’ll want to add to your dance party/club/celebratory playlist for when large gatherings are safe again playlist! I found myself nodding and dancing along throughout the entire song, and I definitely replayed it more than once after that initial listen!

You can listen to Soleil on Apple Music, Spotify, or any other preferred streaming service of your choice! You can listen to “Whose Side?” below, and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments and follow Soleil on Instagram and Twitter to stay in the know about any future releases!
