Marivilla is following the successful release of her acoustic track “Honey” with a new song that has a bedroom pop feel titled “fri/end”. Singing about the topic of fake friends is something that can be tricky, but Marivilla handles it perfectly and puts her own twist on the subject.

A lot of times you’ll find artists singing about toxic romantic relationships, it’s not often you see people singing about their friends growing toxic. Marivilla sings about a friend who acts like they’re your biggest supporter when in reality they’re just putting on a show and they’re not supportive at all. With biting lyrics like, “Cause I know you’re not the only one who cares for me/ And I know you’re only standing there to watch me bleed” and “Do I need to tell you again/ Just stop calling/ I’m not your friend”, Marivilla tells this ex friend to stop worrying about their relationship because she’s moved on and doesn’t think about this person anymore. Anyone can relate to the lyrical content of this track, and that’s what makes it Marivilla’s best release yet!

You can stream “fri/end” on Apple Music, Spotify, or any other streaming service you may use! Be sure to follow Marivilla on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok to stay up to date on future releases! Let me know your thoughts on Marvilla’s new track in the comments!
