Lexi Mariah released her first single of 2021 earlier this month, and just in time for summer! Co-written with Josh Frank, Ricky Frank, and Joe Frank, Lexi tugs at the heartstrings while also making you want to dance in this new track titled “Playlist”!
Similar to “Waterfall”, the beat is catchy and light, while the lyrics are emotional and can hit close to home for many listeners. As someone who connects songs to specific events and people, the lyrics of “Playlist” felt all too relatable. Speaking about the track, Lexi said that there are playlists she’s made over the years that are hard to listen to because the people who she made them with or who inspired them are no longer in her life. However, whenever she does find the strength to listen to them, memories both good and bad come flooding back to her. “I always wonder if those songs make the other person think of me, too,” Lexi said.
