Happy final Sunday of May everyone! To wrap up the month of May, I’m introducing you all to the lovely Piper Page, a New York based R&B/pop singer attending NYU who recently released a new single titled “Risk” that’s guaranteed to make it into your musical rotation for the upcoming summer months!

Combining a range of inspiration from musical theater and jazz vocal training to Aretha Franklin and Ella Mai, Piper brings a fresh new spin to the world of music. On her new track “Risk”, Page’s vocals are smooth and effortless while the instrumentals are jazzy but still have a slight R&B vibe. Lyrically, “Risk” is about wanting someone but being too afraid to be vulnerable with them. Piper originally got the idea after watching a movie, however, a year after watching the movie she found herself in a similar situation where she was afraid of her kindness being taken advantage of. This relationship made her want to follow through and finish the song, and the end result is the incredible single Piper released on the 21st!

On top of making incredible music such as “Risk”, Piper also uses her musical platform to advocate for women of color within the industry, as well as up and coming artists. Her latest venture, Stage Whisper-Her, is a platform where you can discover new music and learn about the rising artists she advocates for. It’s important to help amplify these types of artists within the industry, so definitely make sure to give Piper a follow on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok! You can listen to “Risk” below, stream it on Apple Music or Spotify, and as always let me know your thoughts on the track in the comments!
