In 2020 amidst the pandemic, West Yorkshire born singer Millie Milner released a track titled “Troubled Mind”. Fast forward to 2021, Millie has reworked the track to give it a new sound, more emotional lyrics, and a change to the structure. The track has been renamed to “It’ll Be Alright”, and it’s become my newest obsession (if you know anything about me and have been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m a complete sucker for songs that make promises of things turning out alright, and this song is no different)!

Millie has been an established artist since 2019. As an artist, they work to create music with themes of individuality, love, and queerness in hopes to ensure LGBTQ+ youth don’t feel alone in their struggles like Millie often did. Blending inspirations from Phoebe Bridgers, Fleetwood Mac, and Dodie with their own bedroom pop style, Millie’s sound is mature and their songwriting is filled with so much vulnerability and emotion.

“It’ll Be Alright.” features a soft guitar over a dreamy piano track. It’s a reminder that no matter what’s happening in the world, you’ll always have someone in your corner, and in the end “it’ll be alright”. The lyrics compliment the gentle nature of the instrumental, and you’ll feel like you’re being wrapped up in a comforting hug for three minutes and 53 seconds. It’s a beautiful song, and I just know you’ll all fall in love with Millie’s sound and their beautiful songwriting!

You can stream the song on Apple Music, Spotify, or any other streaming service you prefer to use! Follow Millie on Instagram and Tik Tok to stay up to date on their future releases, and let me know what you think of the track in the comments!
