Kid Krow album cover. Genius

I’ve only recently hopped on the Conan Gray bandwagon, but better late than never, right? I fell in love with his album Kid Krow, but one song in particular I’ve been listening to a lot more than the others. Track two on the album, titled “Wish You Were Sober” is one of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard, and I simply can’t stop listening to it.

“Wish You Were Sober” is about Conan wishing that the person he’s into would show interest in him when they’re sober, not just when they’re drunk. This person only reveals their feelings to Conan when they’re “black out drunk”, according to a tweet posted by Conan. Adding the song to the album was a last minute decision, and it’s a decision I’m so glad Conan decided to make. “I think the song is about all those mixed emotions and all the craziness behind being young and getting super drunk and calling someone and telling them that you love them,” Conan revealed in an interview with Apple Music

I’ve had this song on loop for hours on end, it’s that good. Conan’s voice is soft yet he sings so effortlessly. The lyrics are so catchy, and the backing beats are so infectious, you’ll want to listen to “Wish You Were Sober” a million times over. Check out the song below, and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments as always!
